KHDA holds online session with over 500 school leaders

Dubai regulation authority's top priority is to ensure that the health and safety of all students and staff in schools is preserved.

Those are the words of Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), who addressed more than 500 principals and school leaders from the emirate’s private schools in an online session.

This comes off the back of the UAE Ministry of Education’s (MoE)  announcement about schools reopening based on the country’s latest health updates.

The KHDA’s discussions revolved around the precautionary measures that will be taken when children, teachers and staff return to campus.

They clarified that safety measures will apply to all schools equally, however, they may come up with unique teaching models that best meet the needs of their students.

Educational institutions and leaders have also been urged to take note of the challenges faced in the past few months, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and to come out of the experience "better and stronger".

Authorities in the country are cautiously optimistic about schools reopening for the 2020/2021 academic year.
