Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation’s humanitarian and relief efforts have reached 90 countries.
According to the foundation’s annual report 2020, this was achieved over the course of 14 years since its inception.
Organisers revealed that the humanitarian organisation completed two major national projects despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first initiative helped distribute Ramadan Mir to over 36,000 Emirati families around the country, while the second project involved the distribution of 2.7 million Ramadan meals to workers in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.
They also confirmed that these were carried out with zero infections reported, due to their diligence and adherence to the UAE’s precautionary measures.
During Ramadan last year, the foundation launched its annual iftar project in 10 countries and distributed 475 tonnes of dates to 30 countries.
The foundation also provided around 3,500 laptops worth AED3 million to students, in coordination with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), the Ministry of Education and national higher education establishments, in order to support the distance learning efforts.
