Kenyan teacher wins Global Teacher Prize

Peter Tabichi from Kenya has won the $1 million Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize award.

The winner was announced in a grand ceremony at the finale of the Global Education and Skills Forum in Dubai.

Tabichi was chosen from a list of 10 finalists from around the world. 

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, was in attendance to witness the announcement and congratulate the finalists.
