Investigation under way into Deira building fire

An investigation is under way into the cause of a fire that struck a residential building in Deira’s Muraqqabat area on Monday evening. According to Dubai Police, the blaze affected three blocks of the four-storied Al Shamsi building on Salah Al Deen road. The blaze was brought under control by Civil Defence personnel from Hamriya, Al Qusais, Karama and Rashidiya stations. Salah Al Deen street was cordoned off as a precautionary measure, while services on Dubai Metro’s Green Line was also halted temporarily.
