It's to ensure that the roads are clear when IDEX gets underway.

Heavy trucks have been banned from Abu Dhabi's Arabian Gulf Road on Sunday.

Police say the ban will be effect from 6 AM to 6 PM to coincide with the opening say of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX).

Traffic on the road will be partially closed in both directions from 10:30 to 12:30, and will be diverted to alternative routes through Maqta Bridge and Sheikh Zayed Bridge.
