UAE astronaut Hazzaa Al Mansoori has received the "Distinguished Public Service Medal" from Nasa.

He thanked the UAE's leaders for empowering him and the team at Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) team for ensuring the mission was a success.

Hazzaa also posted an image of his medal and certificate on his official Twitter handle.

In September, Mansoori became the first Emirati to be sent to space, and the first Arab to work on the International Space Station (ISS).
