H.H. Sheikh Mohammed discusses bilateral ties with world leaders

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, held talks with the leaders of Kuwait, Pakistan, Colombia and Poland, on the opening day of the World Governments Summit (WGS).

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al Abdullah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, who delivered a keynote speech at the summit on Tuesday.

During their meeting, Sheikh Ahmed praised the role of WGS in strengthening regional cooperation and creating new opportunities for governments to enhance their performance and improve public services.

The two leaders also highlighted the ongoing cooperation between the UAE and Kuwait across various sectors.

Sheikh Mohammed also welcomed a Pakistani delegation led by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

During their meeting, the two sides reaffirmed the historical ties between the UAE and Pakistan and their mutual commitment to advancing bilateral relations across various sectors.

Sharif expressed his gratitude for the UAE’s steadfast support to Pakistan, particularly in the development sector. He lauded the UAE’s success in government policy development, describing it as a model for both the region and the world.

Sheikh Mohammed met with Colombian President Gustavo Petro Urrego, who is set to deliver a keynote address on the second day of the summit on Wednesday.

Urrego praised the strong ties between the UAE and Colombia and their shared commitment to advancing international cooperation and strengthening governance frameworks to address developmental priorities and economic challenges.

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted that strong collaboration among nations enables government leaders to develop effective strategies to navigate global changes, ensuring sustainable development and prosperity for future generations.

During his meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda, Sheikh Mohammed said that Poland’s participation at WGS serves as an opportunity to advance government partnerships and promote the exchange of expertise in government innovation.

Duda praised the UAE’s efforts in showcasing global experiences and expertise through the summit, and commended its role in fostering constructive international cooperation.
