Residents in Dubai will soon be able to get around the city in sky pods.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) signed an agreement with BeemCar Ltd in order to develop the mobility solution, which will be built with steel wheels that run on suspended rails.

Officials have revealed that the autonomous transit system is characterised by speed, safety and efficiency.

It will also occupy less land area than conventional means of transportation.
