As the new academic year begins, all public and private health centres in the UAE capital will offer free PCR tests for students.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said no fees will be charged until September 30.

They added that saliva tests will also be available at G42 healthcare centres and SEHA drive-thru facilities.

According to the latest guidelines issued by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), all students enrolled in Abu Dhabi's private and charter schools need a negative PCR test no older than14 days to return to the classrooms.

They also need to get tested every 14 days for the first month of the term.
