The first phase of Dubai’s new smart-address system will be rolled out in October. ‘Makani’ allows residents to precisely locate destinations with the help of a 10-digit code. It acquires real-time coordinates from satellites to provide information on access points to buildings and facilities in the emirate. The first phase will cover 40,000 buildings in 60 districts, in addition to government departments and metro stations. The app is free to download across different platforms.
