Abu Dhabi restaurant fire under control, buildings evacuated

A fire caused by a gas cylinder explosion in a restaurant in Abu Dhabi, has been brought under control.

Emergency services teams are at the scene of the incident, which was reported in Al Khalidiya area on Monday afternoon.

Abu Dhabi Police said four residential buildings in the vicinity were evacuated as their facades were affected by the explosion.

"Initial reports indicate that there were injuries caused by the blast and several shops affected," the authority said in a Tweet.
