Egyptian expats in UAE begin voting

WAM

Egyptian expats in the UAE have started voting on constitutional amendments that would allow President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi to stay in power until 2030.

Registered voters lined up outside their diplomatic missions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on Friday to begin casting their votes.

The polling stations will remain open until Sunday.

Air-conditioned tents with cold water dispenser machines have been provided to voters, who need to bring along a valid Egyptian ID or Passport.
