Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) has strengthened its fleet by acquiring 250 new licence plates at a recent auction hosted by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

This brings the DTC’s fleet to a total of 6,210 vehicles, with the new additions set to generate additional annual revenues of approximately AED 85 million.

The newly acquired licence plates will be used exclusively for electric vehicles, raising DTC’s eco-friendly fleet, comprising both hybrid and electric vehicles, to around 87% of its total fleet.

Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, CEO of DTC emphasised the company’s goal of fostering partnerships with key players in the smart and sustainable transport sector.

The latest acquisition brings DTC’s total vehicle count, including taxis, limousines, buses, and motorcycles, to more than 9,000, further solidifying its role as a comprehensive mobility provider.
