Dubai Ruler celebrates 70th birthday

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is celebrating his 70th birthday.

Sheikh Mohammed was born on July 15, 1949 in the Al Maktoum Home in Dubai.

He became the ruler of the emirate in 2006, before members of the UAE Supreme Council elected him as the Vice-President of the UAE.

Later that year, UAE President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, nominated His Highness Sheikh Mohammad as Prime Minister of the UAE.
