In the first half of 2024, Dubai Police marine rescue teams responded to 10 maritime emergencies and handled 78 collisions involving watercraft.

Brigadier Dr. Hassan Suhail Al Suwaidi, Director of the Ports Police Station, reaffirmed the force’s commitment to enhancing maritime security, focusing on both rescue operations and beach safety.

The teams also recorded a total of 272 maritime violations during this period. Brigadier Al Suwaidi highlighted that these specialized teams are equipped with advanced technologies, including fast boats and state-of-the-art GPS devices, ensuring the safety of individuals at sea.

They also undergo regular training in the latest rescue techniques and emergency response protocols.

Colonel Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi, Deputy Director of the Ports Police Station, emphasized the crucial role these teams play in managing maritime emergencies, including incidents with boats and ships, as well as responding to natural disasters like storms.

He added that the Facilities Security Section conducted 12 field inspections, identifying seven areas needing attention from relevant authorities to enhance compliance with laws and regulations.
