These calls were logged over a 12-hour period from 6:00 pm on December 31 until 6:00 am on January 1.

As many as 13,078 of these calls were directed to the emergency hotline 999, while the 901 call centre handled the rest.

Colonel Muhammad Abdullah Al Muhairi, Director of the Command and Control Centre, commended the efforts of the staff for their professional and timely response to all inquiries and acknowledged the support of the public in contributing to the successful organisation of the celebrations.

He also reminded the public to dial 999 only for actual emergencies and to use 901 for non-emergency cases or general inquiries.
