Dubai enhances school transport services

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has beefed up its school transport fleet for the new academic year with hi-tech buses catering to nearly 25,000 students.

The RTA's Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) said the vehicles are equipped with advanced monitoring and tracking devices, including surveillance cameras to ensure that no student is left behind at the end of each trip.

They also feature emergency alert systems linked to the control centre, in addition to an automatic fire-suppression system for engines.

The DTC added that its bus drivers and attendants go through specialised training programmes on handling emergency cases and delivering first aid.

"Using DTC's extensive experience and resources, combined with investments in advanced technologies in school buses, highlights our strategic drive to boost the confidence of parents and the entire community while providing a safe and secure transportation environment for students during the school year," said Ammar Rashid Al Braiki, Director of Fleet Operation, DTC.
