The evolving role of libraries in a changing world will come under focus at the inaugural Dubai International Library Conference this week.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library will host the event, from November 15-17, under the theme 'Our Libraries: Past, Present, and Future' with the participation of more than 25 countries and over 60 speakers.

It will bring together library professionals, educators and enthusiasts from around the world to discuss the future of libraries worldwide.

The conference aims to highlight the vital role libraries play in global knowledge-sharing and will position Dubai as a cultural hub for library and book professionals.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with international experts and discuss the latest practices in the library and information sector, including the impact of new technologies like Artificial Intelligence.

In addition to a variety of workshops, seminars and discussions, the event will cover topics such as the preservation of rare manuscripts, the role of libraries in the digital age, sustainable printing, and the skills needed for future librarians.

Participants can register online for free.
