Dubai Municipality has completed seven major beautification projects aimed at enhancing key intersections and roadsides along Sheikh Zayed and Al Khail Roads.

The AED 245 million initiative spans over 1.4 million square metres and is part of the city's ongoing efforts to improve its visual appeal and green spaces.

The projects focus on creating a unique blend of urban character and expansive greenery, with a commitment to the highest sustainable planting practices.

In total, 2.5 million flowers and ornamental plants were introduced, alongside 6,500 trees. Advanced, water-efficient irrigation systems have been installed to ensure sustainability.

Four of the projects were carried out along Sheikh Zayed Road, covering 843,000 square metres, including key intersections with Al Yelayes Street and Al Jameel Street, as well as the sides of Sheikh Zayed Road from the intersection with Umm Suqeim Street to Al Yelayes Street.

The planting involved nearly 1.5 million flowers and plants, and 3,500 trees, along with 290,000 square metres of soil mulching.

Meanwhile, three beautification projects on Al Khail Street covered 625,000 square metres. These included intersections with Al Meydan Street, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street, and Umm Suqeim Street.

The planting efforts here included 1 million flowers, 3,000 trees, and over 143,000 square metres of soil mulch.

In 2023 alone, Dubai Municipality planted over 185,000 trees, boosting the city’s green coverage by 234 hectares, further cementing its commitment to environmental sustainability.
