Emirates NBD has issued an apology to its customers after several people took to social media to report unauthorised transaction alerts that allegedly wiped out their bank accounts.

In messages sent to their customers, Emirates NBD urged them to "disregard" the SMS sent out on Sunday titled "RA DISB MIGRATION".

It added that the messages were sent in "error" during a "system upgrade".

"There are no changes to your account balance," the bank confirmed.

Several residents reported receiving transaction SMS from the bank that left their accounts with zero balance.

"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused," the bank added.
