Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) now operates a network of more than 740 EV Green Charger points across Dubai.

This is to support the emirate's rapid adoption of electric vehicles, which surpassed 34,970 as of October 2024.

Users can easily locate charging stations via DEWA’s website, app, and 14 other digital platforms.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, emphasised the initiative’s role in advancing Dubai’s green mobility goals, aligned with the UAE’s vision to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. He highlighted the recent launch of a Regulatory and Licensing Framework for EV infrastructure and the issuance of the first Independent Charge Point Operator licenses to Tesla and UAEV.

Since its 2014 launch, DEWA’s Green Charger network has provided 31,674 megawatt hours of electricity, benefiting over 16,800 customers by the end of September 2024.

The network includes ultra-fast, fast, public, and wall-box chargers, reflecting DEWA’s commitment to sustainability and private-sector collaboration.
