The initiative is part of the enhanced safety measures being implemented to protect workers as well as hotel guests in the emirate.

The screening programme is being implemented by the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) in partnership with the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) as well as the Ras Al Khaimah Preventive Medicine Department.

"These measures ensure that our sector partners can continue to operate successfully as we enter the ‘new normal’," said Raki Phillips, CEO of RAKTDA.

Last month, Ras Al Khaimah becoming the first city in the world to be certified as safe by the international certifications firm, Bureau Veritas, while it also received the Safe Travels Stamp from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
