Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Director-General of the Dubai Media Office, has received her first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine against the COVID-19 virus.

Al Marri's mother also received her primary injection.

The Dubai Health Authority has organised the free vaccination programme.

Many senior officials in the emirate have been getting their initial shots in recent days.

Frontline workers, Dubai residents over the age of 60, and those with chronic diseases are being given priority ahead of the second phase of the rollout in April.
