The UAE will offer free counselling to help members of the community deal with the stress and anxiety caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The newly launched 'Taaluf' initiative by the Ministry of Community Development (MoCD) aims to address the psychosocial impact of home quarantine on individuals.

Some services across the four interactive channels will be available 24|7 in order to provide advice and guidance.

Officials also clarified that individuals’ privacy and confidentiality will be preserved throughout the process.

The channels available are:

  • The Taaluf hotline 800623, available daily from 09:00 am to 09:00 pm, except on Fridays and Saturdays
  • Video calls via WhatsApp (individuals need to register for an appointment on the Ministry website to use this feature)
  • 24|7 help available on the ministry website
  • Weekly live streaming services via the Ministry's Instagram account (@mocduae)
