Medical professionals can volunteer through 'Day for Dubai' app

WAM

Medical professionals in the UAE can now volunteer using the ‘Day for Dubai’ app.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has launched the ‘Your City Needs You’ volunteering campaign to support healthcare staff currently working round the clock to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The initiative will give doctors, pharmacists, paramedics and nurses the opportunity to serve the community by applying through the mobile app.

The campaign, which is in collaboration with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Watani Al Emarat Foundation, also gives non-professionals a chance to provide social services such as taking care of senior citizens.

Entities can also manage their volunteers through the app, through which people can calculate their hours and apply for an achievement certificate.

'Day for Dubai' was launched by Sheikh Hamdan in 2017, and has since aimed to make use of residents’ skills in order to promote a culture of volunteering and social responsibility.
