Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) are asking us all to switch off all lights and  appliances between 8.30 and 9.30 tonight.

It's to mark Earth Hour, a global initiative to encourage us to adopt a responsible lifestyle in using electricity and water to support efforts to reduce carbon emissions and protect natural resources to ensure their availability, for generations to come.

Dubai’s landmarks and buildings also turn off their lights from 20:30 to 21:30 on the last Saturday of March every year.
