Abu Dhabi Airports has announced the full transition of the new United States Customs and Border Protection (US CBP) facility to Zayed International Airport (AUH).

This state-of-the-art pre-clearance facility will streamline travel for Etihad passengers heading to the US from Abu Dhabi, allowing them to bypass lengthy queues upon arrival.

Following a successful collaboration with US CBP, the new facility has passed an extensive vetting process, ensuring that all systems and personnel are ready.

Passengers can now complete immigration, customs, and agriculture inspections before departing from AUH.

Equipped with cutting-edge biometric technology, the facility enhances security and efficiency with facial comparison devices at CBP boarding gates.

"This is a unique offering that allows us to stand out in the region as the first and only US Preclearance and reaffirms our commitment to delivering world-class services and convenience to our passengers," said Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports.

"With all Etihad flights now pre-clearing in Abu Dhabi, our guests can bypass arrival queues and, if connecting within the US, enjoy seamless transfers with minimal connection times through our partner airlines," added Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways.

The unveiling of the new facility comes just days before Zayed International Airport’s first anniversary, further solidifying its status as a leading global aviation hub.
