Abu Dhabi has launched the first phase of an initiative aimed at simplifying government procedures for bereaved families, including getting a death certificate and arranging for the burial of the deceased.
The Department of Health's (DoH) 'Sanadkom' initiative will serve UAE Nationals in the initial phase, while its subsequent phases will cater to all residents of Abu Dhabi.
'Sanadkom' digitally unifies the services of seven government entities including DoH, Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, Abu Dhabi Pension Fund, Abu Dhabi Health Services Company – SEHA, Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, Abu Dhabi Distribution Company and Al Ain Distribution Company.
It will help simplify the customer experience and facilitate procedures for the families of the deceased to access government services and support them upon the passing of a family member.
A representative from the joint government support team will be assigned to assist bereaved families on a case-by-case basis via the phone, without the need to visit any government department in person.
This will help families complete necessary transactions such as obtaining the death certificate, arranging for the burial of the deceased and distributing the retirement pension benefits to the beneficiaries on behalf of the insured or the deceased.
DoH has launched phase one of the Sanadkom initiative, part of the #AbuDhabi Programme for Effortless Customer Experience, to simplify government procedures for the families of deceased UAE Nationals.
