The ban on holding events and wedding parties in Abu Dhabi has been extended until further notice.

According to the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT), tourist venues and cultural sites in the emirate will also be closed indefinitely.

It said the move is in line with the precautionary measures to ensure public health and safety.

Routine checks and inspections will be carried out to ensure that the rules are being followed.

The DCT had initially announced a two-week ban on events and closure of venues, on March 16, to limit the spread of COVID-19.
