Authorities in Abu Dhabi are planning to gradually reopen shopping malls and restart trading activities on a limited scale.

A timeline has not been announced, but the Department of Economic Development is looking at options in partnership with the private sector and other stakeholders.

It has also issued a list of health and safety guidelines that retailers and shoppers will have to follow if the outlets reopen.

Similar measures are also being considered in Dubai, as per a government circular issued to commercial establishments.
