Ninety tonnes of urgent relief supplies have been airlifted from Dubai to support the people of Sudan.

This comes following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Dubai Humanitarian facilitated the dispatch of the aircraft to Chad’s capital Ndjamena, carrying essential medical supplies, shelter materials and other items provided by the World Health Organisation and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

These supplies aim to support over 70,000 Sudanese people and address their immediate needs.

The airlift, costing around AED 1.48 million was fully funded by Dubai Humanitarian’s Global Humanitarian Impact Fund, which supports essential humanitarian missions from Dubai across the globe.

"In these critical moments, the speed of our response can mean the difference between life and death. Our ability to mobilize and deliver aid quickly is a testament to the strong partnerships and unwavering support from the leadership of Dubai," said Giuseppe Saba, CEO and Board Member of Dubai Humanitarian.
