Eighteen establishments have been fined by Dubai Economy during the latest round of inspections to ensure compliance with the COVID-19 safety protocols.

They include two gyms as well as shops selling perfumes, clothes, mobile phones, electronics and computer accessories, located in various shopping centres, and in International City, Al-Daghaya and Ayal Nasir areas.

The outlets were pulled up for violating physical distancing norms and for their employees' lack of commitment to wearing face masks.

Meanwhile, warnings were issued to 12 other businesses for not placing enough physical distancing stickers.

A total of 725 establishments were found to be fully compliant with the rules during the latest field visits.
