Sudan protesters suspend talks with military leadership

OZAN KOSE / AFP

Sudanese protest leaders have suspended talks with the ruling military that replaced ousted leader Omar al-Bashir.

This comes after they alleged that the country's military rulers failed to meet their demands for an immediate transfer to a civilian government.

The protestors, who now vowed to escalate their demonstrations, have even accused the military of being composed of "remnants" of Bashir's regime.

Meanwhile, the military indicated it might favour a joint council.
