Philippine VP condemns foreign student who threw food at policeman

Vice President Leni Robredo described the incident involving a Chinese woman as disrespectful to the Philippines.

The Philippine Vice President has spoken out after an image of a Chinese national throwing food at a local police officer went viral. 

According to reports, the student threw a cup of soybean custard at a policeman after he informed her that it was not allowed inside the train station she was about to enter.

Speaking on her weekly radio show, Robredo described it as "not just disrespectful to law enforcement, but also to the country".

The 23-year-old is currently detained and is facing possible deportation from the Philippines.
