Pakistani TV anchor gunned down in Karachi

Pakistani TV news anchor Mureed Abbas has been shot dead outside a cafe in Karachi.

He was with his friend Khizar Hayat when the attack unfolded in Khayaban-e-Bukhari area.

According to local media reports, Abbas, who worked for a private television channel Bol News, was shot by his business partner Atif Zaman who later turned the gun on himself.

Initial investigations revealed it was a personal dispute. 

Both Abbas and Hayat succumbed to bullet wounds, while the gunman is in a critical condition in hospital.
