North Korea on Sunday launched two apparent short-range ballistic missiles off its east coast.

That's according to South Korea's military, which said the "short-range projectiles" were launched from the coastal Wonsan area and flew 230 km at a maximum altitude of 20 km.

It comes at a time when the entire world is battling the coronavirus pandemic, with South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff calling the launch "inappropriate".

Meanwhile, Japan's Ministry of Defence confirmed that they didn't land in their territory.

This is said to be the sixth launch by the Kim Jong-Un regime in less than a month, with the leader earlier warning that the nation will unveil a new "strategic weapon" this year.
