Police in Malaysia have expanded the search for an Irish teenager who disappeared from a holiday resort over the weekend.

Fifteen-year-old Nora Anne Quoirin was reported missing from her room on Sunday, a day after her family arrived at the nature resort, south of the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur.

Officials added that they had found no evidence she was abducted and were handling it as a missing person case.

More than 178 people, a helicopter and canine units are searching for the teen, who has a learning disability.
