Ras Al Khaimah has launched a brand new attraction for thrill-seekers and adventure lovers.

The 'Jais Sledder' is a 1,885-metre toboggan ride through the UAE’s tallest peak, with speeds of up to 40 km per hour.

The attraction, which will be the region’s longest toboggan, opens to the public on February 16.

Sitting comfortably on a low-slung track, the fully controllable ride takes around eight minutes to cover 1,885 exhilarating metres of hairpin curves and undulating whirls.

The sleds are designed to seat two people comfortably, one in front and the other in the back so you can choose to share the experience with a friend, family member or go superhero-solo.

Jais Sledder is open 9:00 am to 5:30 pm from Tuesday to Sunday with tickets starting from AED 40 for an adult and AED 60 for an adult and a child.

Riders must be minimum of 3-years-old and children up to the age of 8 years (or under 1.35m tall) must ride in two-seater sleds together with an older person.

Children older than 8 years must be at least 1.35 m tall to ride alone.

"Jais Sledder forms part of the half a billion-dirham investment announced in 2021, in partnership with RAK Leisure and RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is the first of 20 planned projects throughout the Emirate," said Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority.
