Supermodel Elle Macpherson has revealed she had breast cancer seven years ago and chose not to undergo chemotherapy or medical treatment.
Macpherson said during an interview with The Australian Women's Weekly that she took a holistic approach to her diagnosis.
The supermodel talked of her shock when she was told she had cancer and said she chose to keep her illness private.
The star was recommended to have chemotherapy treatment by 32 doctors and experts, but said she opted for, "an intuitive, heart-led, holistic approach" under the guidance of a primary doctor specialising in integrative medicine.
Macpherson said she understands her approach is not right for everyone and said turning down medical treatment was the "hardest things I've ever done in my life".
