Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch put up for sale

Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch is on sale for $100 million. The late pop legend was forced to sell the 2,700-acre Sycamore Valley Ranch in Los Olivos, California, to Colony Capital for $22.5 million due to financial issues before his death in 2009 and the new owners are now marketing the unique property for nearly five times the price. Kyle Forsyth of Colony Capital told the TODAY Show: "Michael's vision was to take the ranch back to its natural setting and to sell the ranch eventually. So we're just following through with our original vision." The ranch - which Michael bought for $19.5 million in 1987 - was turned into a Peter Pan-themed park, with the six-bedroom mansion at the centre of the beautiful grounds. The site is so precious that even potential buyers are having to be vetted before they are able to view the ranch. Suzanne Perkins, of Sotheby's International Realty, said there must be a "extensive prequalification" of possible buyers because of Jackson's huge fanbase. She said recently: "Our seller is not encouraging a lot of showings. We're not going to be giving tours."
