British singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi has decided to take a break from his gruelling schedule, citing both physical and mental exhaustion.

The 26-year-old Scottish singer, who was working tirelessly to promote his new album, has now cancelled all public engagements until he performs at the Glastonbury Festival on June 24.

Releasing a statement to his fanbase, Capaldi expressed regret about having to make such a decision, describing it as one that "hurts me a lot to type". He lauded the overwhelming support from fans for his new album, but acknowledged the toll the preceding months have taken on his well-being.

Capaldi shed light on his current situation, saying that he has not had proper rest since Christmas and is "struggling to get to grips with it all". He further stated his desire to rest, recuperate and return to the stage in top form for the eagerly awaited Glastonbury performance, as well as other forthcoming shows.

The singer, who has been open about his struggle with Tourette's syndrome, also touched upon the potential impact of his health on his career, hinting at the possibility of having to quit music if the pressure becomes unbearable.
