German rock icons Scorpions are bringing their "Love At First Sting" world tour to Abu Dhabi next year, marking the 40th Anniversary of the release of their iconic album.

The rock legends will play the Etihad Arena - Yas Island on May 17.

Formed in 1965 in Hanover, Germany, Scorpions have long been at the forefront of hard rock and heavy metal, their success marked by several chart-topping hits, achieving over 120 million records sold, and surpassing 1 billion views on YouTube for their single Wind of Change

Boasting a history that spans nearly 60 years, the band has seen many different line-ups of rock and metal legends, but some of its early members still perform with the five-piece to this day.

Scorpions’ original members include Rudolf Schenker, the founder, lead guitarist, and primary songwriter, Klaus Meine, the lead singer who joined in 1970 and was recognised as one of the world’s Top Heavy Metal Vocalists in 2006 by Hit Parader magazine, and Matthias Jabs on rhythm guitar and backing vocals.

Other members who have also joined the group in recent years include the bassist Paweł Mąciwoda in 2003, and the drummer Mikkey Dee in 2016.

This upcoming tour will mark the 40th anniversary of their classic Love at First Sting album which contains some of Scorpions’ most successful songs, combining heavy metal, hard rock, and glam metal with lyrics that remain enduringly relatable and remembered by fans to this day.

To celebrate their iconic album, Scorpions will set the stage ablaze with a whole host of smash hits including Still Loving YouBig City Nights, and much more.

Pre-sale tickets are available on December 12 and general sale tickets are on sale from here starting December 13.
