Snapchat to sell sunglasses with built-in video camera

Snapchat is to launch sunglasses that can record and upload 10-second videos, the people behind the social media app have announced. Called Spectacles, the accessories utilise Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology and will cost about AED 475 per pair, a company spokeswoman said on Saturday. They will go on sale in limited numbers this autumn, she said, adding they will come in one size and three colours. The product represents the first foray into consumer electronics for Snap Inc., the recently renamed start-up behind the popular messaging app.
