Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation opens new HQ in Dubai Maritime City

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), has inaugurated the new headquarters of the Corporation in Dubai Maritime City.

Designed as a symbol of progress as well as PCFC’s vision to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global business hub, the facility accommodates over 1,500 employees, serves more than 300 clients and visitors daily, and features a standalone parking structure with over 700 spaces.

In his speech during the event, Sultan bin Sulayem said the new headquarters marks another milestone in the Corporation’s journey, which began in 1886 with the establishment of the Furda Department to oversee Dubai's trade and customs affairs.

He said, "Today, we celebrate the opening of this headquarters – a model of innovation and sustainability. Designed to meet the highest standards of energy efficiency and environmental quality, it provides an ideal work environment that prioritises employee comfort and well-being while enhancing service efficiency for clients."

Bin Sulayem said the new headquarters is a vibrant architectural icon at Mina Rashid, one of Dubai's most historic ports. The building features a modern, innovative design, adhering to the gold-level LEED standards – one of the world’s highest benchmarks for sustainable buildings, certified by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), which aims to enhance indoor environmental quality, reduce water consumption, and improve energy efficiency.

He added, "From the outset, we were dedicated to making this headquarters a symbol of progress – one that embodies our forward-thinking vision to reinforce Dubai's position as a global business hub while reflecting the core values of the Corporation."

Nasser Al Neyadi, CEO of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, said the opening of the new headquarters represents the beginning of further accomplishments that will enhance the Corporation’s position both locally and globally. He noted that the initiative aligns with the Corporation’s vision for digital transformation and corporate excellence and highlighted the extensive efforts invested in completing the project on time.

The inauguration ceremony included a tour led by the Chairman through various facilities, departments, and offices covering the Museum, Library, Happiness Council, Innovation Quay, and employee offices. The Corporation also unveiled a custom tune and exclusive fragrances named after its major ports – Rashid, Hamriyah, and Jebel Ali -- created specifically for the occasion.

The ceremony was attended by Nasser Al Neyadi, CEO of PCFC, Dr. Abdullah Busenad, Director-General of Dubai Customs, Abdullah bin Damithan, Executive Director and General Manager of DP World for the GCC region, Ahmed bin Sulayem, CEO of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, and the Corporation's board members, strategic partners, and employees from various organisational units.
