Emirates to roll out IATA Travel Pass across its entire network

Following the successful trials of the IATA Travel Pass, Emirates will expand its implementation across its global network.

The IATA Pass will allow passengers to manage their travel documentation digitally and enable them to find accurate information on COVID testing and vaccine requirements for their journey.

The digital pass is now available to passengers flying from 50 cities, with the roll-out across its 120-plus destinations expected to be completed by October.

It comes after trials were held on select routes from its Dubai hub in April and another 12 more in June.

Passengers can create their digital identity on the app by registering using their passports.

They will then be able to access over 1,500 COVID-19 test labs via the IATA Travel Pass app.

Adel Al Redha, Emirates' Chief Operating Officer, highlighted how the move will help "deliver smooth journeys and contactless experiences for customers while enabling airport teams to handle document checks efficiently and in compliance with regulatory requirements".

Nick Careen, IATA Senior Vice President Operations, Safety and Security, said: "By providing passengers with a one-stop-shop to demystify, manage and process these credentials through a secure automated process, they can arrive at the airport ready-to-fly using automated processes. This will avoid queuing and congestion for document checks - to the benefit of travelers, airlines, airports and governments."
