Dubai Chambers, in collaboration with the Dubai Future Foundation, has hosted a workshop delving into new opportunities and growth prospects for the gaming sector.

The session was centered on strategies for the Dubai Programme for Gaming 2033, an initiative aiming to make Dubai one of the top 10 global gaming hubs.

The programme aims to create up to 30,000 new jobs in the sector and boost the contribution of gaming to Dubai’s GDP to approximately $1 billion by 2033.

The workshop saw participation from key players in the gaming industry, including developers, hardware experts and specialists in artificial intelligence, sales and marketing.

Discussions included strategies to enhance the sector’s economic impact and strengthen Dubai’s competitive edge globally.

Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, emphasised the programme's potential to transform Dubai into a leading global gaming destination, providing opportunities for businesses and experts within the sector.

The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, highlighted the importance of the gaming sector for the upcoming Expand North Star event, set to take place at Dubai Harbour from October 13 to 16.

The workshop also touched on the significance of gaming in the ‘App Olympics,’ part of the ‘Create Apps in Dubai’ initiative.

Attendees explored ways to elevate Dubai’s position in the global gaming market and reviewed ongoing efforts by local authorities to foster sector development and collaboration.
