81 new business licences issued every day: DED H1 figures

Dubai's Department of Economic Development has released its 'Business Map'

New business licences were issued at the rate of 81 each day during the first half of 2019.

88 per cent of licences were issued to those new to owning a business.

12 per cent were issued to women and the top three nationalities issued new licences were Indians, Bangladeshis, Pakistanis.

Roughly half the licences were for commercial operations; 45 per cent professional services and the remainder in tourism and industrial sectors.
