Hamish Harding's last interview on Dubai Eye before the Titanic mission

Dubai-based British billionaire Hamish Harding was a regular guest on Dubai Eye 103.8. Over the years, he joined us in the studio to discuss the many adventures he had been on, from his journey to the edge of space to his experience descending to the bottom of the Mariana Trench.

Harding's last interview was with The Agenda on Friday, June 9th 2023, hours before he was due to fly out of Dubai, beginning his journey to Canada to explore the Titanic wreck.

In his appearance, he spoke excitedly about the coming adventure, acknowledging the dangers of the mission but pointing to some of the biggest lessons he'd learned through his years of exploring.

Harding was one of the five people on board a deep-sea submersible on a voyage to the centuries-old wreck of the Titanic.

The submersible was found in pieces from a "catastrophic implosion" that killed everyone aboard, the US Coast Guard said on Thursday, ending a multinational five-day search for the vessel.

In a tweet, Harding's family paid tribute to his life of adventure.

"Today, we are united in grief with the other families who have also lost their loved ones on the Titan submersible," read the tweet by Action Aviation on behalf of the company and family of Harding.

“He was one of a kind and we adored him. He was a passionate explorer - whatever the terrain - who lived his life for his family, his business and for the next adventure. What he achieved in his lifetime was truly remarkable and if we can take any small consolation from this tragedy, it's that we lost him doing what he loved.”
