Every fortnight Helen from The Mothership joins The Ticket in the studio for an honest take on living, working and parenting in Dubai. Here are some of the events across the Emirates that are kid-friendly and handy for parents. Take it away Helen!

Screening of A Plastic Ocean

A date for the diary and it’s a great one if you/your kids are passionate about nature and the environment. Social enterprise Goumbook-your green connection is holding a panel discussion followed by a free screening of acclaimed film A Plastic Ocean to raise awareness of plastic consumption on Tuesday 22nd May from 3:30pm with the screening at 4:30pm.

Suitable for over 7s, the film will inspire you to change your ways for the good of marine life.

May 22 is also the first anniversary of their Drop It campaign, and there will be complimentary kids’ activities in the foyer area of the Madinat Theatre, with face painting, balloon bending, arts and crafts before the screening starts, plus prizes including home water filters. And the whole event will be plastic-free! Register here.
