UN says 1,400 children killed in Yemen since start of conflict

12 January 2017
The United Nations on Wednesday said that nearly 1,400 children have been killed in war-torn Yemen.

A UNICEF representative said schools should be treated as sanctuary where children can learn.

The official informed that hundreds of children have been wounded and many schools closed by the war in Yemen.

The representative warned that the actual casualty toll was likely to be much higher than the verified figures.
